Barnaby Druthers creates story Inspired By the CT Historical Society Event

The Litchfield (CT) Historical Society hosts an enjoyable annual “Scarecrows in the Meadow” event where local community organizations create scarecrows to fill the meadow behind the Tapping Reeve House and Law School Museum. The event is free and open to the public.

This year, the Barnaby Druthers Audio Theater Team visited the meadow and as a result, “The Scarecrows in the Meadow” episode was written, performed, recorded and edited so that it could be shared in support of the event. The program was shared and aired on all stations in the network of Barnaby Druthers and Nutmeg Junction stations.

Next year we plan to build upon this specific experience and, if possible, create our own scarecrow for the event, so that our scarecrow mirrors the events in our fictional audio theater story!

We hope to create more stories in the coming years to benefit the artistic, historical and cultural institutions in the communities that hear the Barnaby Druthers program on the air!
